How hard can it be?!

Hello my loves!

As you may have realized the last time I posted on here was 2 months ago.. In all truth I had so much going on I needed a break but I didn't realize how hard it would be to start blogging again. I think the problem was that I didn't want to come on here and give you a load of excuses because I hate it when people do that!

So instead I'm just going to carry on like nothing happened! Always the healthy way to do things... (haha). Anyway I was considering writing a post on here about wedding make up, although I haven't brought all of it yet because I can't quite decide. I thought it would be an interesting post that I don't think I have seen someone else do before.

There are a lot of hair tutorials for brides and there are some make up tutorials available but I always find that they either skip a few steps or they are all roughly the same thing. On my wedding day I have decided that I don't want to go over the top, I just want to look like a beautiful version of myself. This decision believe it or not took a while to come to, as I was originally going to do something completely different from my normal make up. After trying out all of my ideas I realized that I didn't really feel comfortable in make up so different from the norm.

I suggest if you are getting married to try out all of your crazy ideas, even if like me you decide that you hate them all at least it will be out of your system!

So my next post is going to be a more detailed look into make up for the "Big Day" and my experiences about it all.

Speak to you soon.
Bye bye xoxo

STRESSED!

Hi my loves!

So remember Monday when I did my lifestyle post, well after that I started feeling really unwell and crappy! I also blogged about shoe shopping with my bridesmaids on the Friday which was never scheduled for then it has always been scheduled for this Friday! Oh how delirious I was!

Anyway I'm back now! I think all the stress of the wedding and other life issues was getting to me a bit (physically I mean) I feel better than I did but I still don't feel great. Everyone is telling me I need to rest and try and relax. But it just doesn't work! I get emails or calls from people and I have to sort it there and then! I can't just tell someone "you know what really don't feel like talking today.....yes I know it's important but it can wait til I'm ready..." it just does not work!

This week has been a lot less stressful practically although my brain ticks over about things that need to be done and it just makes me feel exhausted. I was talking to my Fiance this morning about how I literally do not remember the last time I had a good nights sleep! I wake up feeling exhausted and go to bed feeling more exhausted. Its a sleepy cycle!!! haha.... Is it just me or do other people feel like this when planning big events? It feels like an endless list of things to do... I hope I find a way to relax! If you have any tips please let me know! I would greatly appreciate it!

Last week in my delirious state I also forgot to mention that I was going to a meeting to discuss my wedding cake on Saturday! Which I did and it went amazingly!

Thanks for listening to me rant about how hectic things are! I have been thinking about the upload schedule and I think for the next few week I might just had one set day where I will without fail put up a new post. Then as for the rest of the week I'll upload at least 1 other post but it will not be on any set date.

This new schedule may not work but I'm trying to de-stress myself anyway I can! Please bare with me over the next few weeks, don't worry if there are anymore changes I will update you asap.

Speak to you soon =]
Bye bye xxx

Lifestyle - Week 2

Hi my loves,

I know this is supposed to be about the up coming week but as I don't have a lot going on this week I thought I'd update you on last week and then include the little bits I've got going on, hope you don't mind. I just thought it would be more enjoyable than a small post.

Anyway, last week...

Tuesday

The meeting with our Priest went wonderfully and we actually get on with him very well. He's quite young which I really liked and he's got a very good sense of humour. We have already arranged to more meetings to go and see him which is pretty standard for a church wedding. I have to say I'm actually quite looking forward to our up coming meetings, gives us a chance to get to know each other and it makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

Wednesday

Loved the photographer! Have already decided that he's the one we want to do our photo's on the big day! Really enjoyed looking at his albums of both professional and personal photographs.

Thursday

Picked up the bridesmaid accessories and exchanged 2 of the dresses, was really easy actually. We didn't have the receipt either as my future mother in law had picked up the wrong one, but the shop was really good and just did a straight exchange.

Friday

Fail! Wanted to have my hair trial but was absolutely knackered! I ended up doing admin on the laptop for the wedding and staying in doors lol!

Back to this week...

Wednesday

Having one of my bridesmaid's come back over to try on the new dress, which should be perfect now.

Friday

Exciting day! Am going shoe shopping with all 3 of my bridesmaids and my future mother in law. Am actually quite excited since this is the first time we are going shopping together! So hopefully that will be a nice and productive day and we will find some wonderful shoes.

That's all I'm really doing other than general day to day wedding organising. Should hopefully have at least arranged a time to go visit the other parish and fill out the forms - you have to have your banns read in both boroughs - so we should hopefully have that sorted by next week. Also might be able to fit in my hair trial but to be honest I'm feeling so drained from everything, that I might try and leave that til next week.

Oh by the way guys I hope you don't mind these random timed uploads, I'm going to try and get them up earlier but right now its just about all I can manage to get them up on the right date! New years resolution is going great though as haven't missed a day yet! Woop! *Self high-five*

Hope you enjoyed this catch up style blog, if you have any comments/questions leave them below. Speak to you soon!

Bye bye xxx

YSL Baby Doll Mascara Review

Hi my loves!

Okay, so a few weeks before Christmas I went shopping and ended up having a nosey around the YSL counter in John Lewis. I know naughty me, I should have been looking for other peoples presents! I also brought YSL Forever Youth Liberator Foundation in BR20 and the

Touche Eclat Complexion Highlighter in the original shade, reviews yet to come.

Anyway, I started talking to the man at counter about my wedding and how I have been looking for the perfect mascara. He suggested that I try the YSL Babydoll Mascara, even though I had informed him that I was looking for something waterproof. He informed me that the mascara was "tear proof" & I think he could tell I was a bit hesitant since it isn't marketed as water resistant/waterproof. He offered me a sample of it which I thought was great since I'd be able to try it out without paying £24.50 for the pleasure!

(YSL Babydoll Mascara - Sample Version)

As you can imagine organising a wedding is very stressful and one night when I was testing the mascara out, I had the opportunity to test it's tear proof technology! The mascara was awful! It clumped together, ran down my cheek and the product went into my eyes! Needless to say there is definitely no tear proof technology in this mascara!

I found it really disappointing as I had quite liked the application of it and the look I had achieved. It held a curl very well considering my lashes are poker straight although I did use a eyelash curler before I applied it - I use them with any mascara I use. It lengthened the lashes and gave a beautiful volume at the base whilst still managing a wispy look at the tips.

If your looking for something that gives you nice volume and length whilst holding the curl this a lovely mascara. If however, you have watery eyes or think there's any possibility that you might cry (going to an emotional event) I would recommend you go with a waterproof mascara such as L'Oreal Telescopic False Lash Mascara Waterproof.

Check back on Monday for a Lifestyle blog, have a lovely weekend.

Bye bye xxx

Update Post - Sorry

Hi my loves!

So sorry there wasn't a beauty related post today! Everything has been extremely hectic today! I thought rather than not post at all, I'd share my day with you and hope you feel it is better than nothing!

Well firstly I have a massive skin inflammation on my chin - you know those spot like boil things that just raise under your skin & give you lots of pain! Well I've had one of those lovely things for about 3 days & today it decides to not let me cover it up with concealer. It's all flaky and gross!

That was the start of my day, then we had our meeting with the photographer which went great. We looked over his albums of photographs taken at other wedding's and just got to know each other a bit more.

One of my bridesmaid's then came over to try on her dress and we had a nice chat and even arranged to meet up with my other two bridesmaid's to go shoe shopping. Yay lol!

When you write it down it doesn't actually sound like I did a lot haha but it took longer than it sounds and its also very draining entertaining people all day. As well as looking after my fiance who only recently had a tonsillectomy.

Well I'm off to bed now! Hope you all had a wonderful day, hopefully one less stressful than mine haha!

Bye bye xxx

Lifestyle - Week 1

Hi my loves!

So this week is going to be hectic! This post is going to give you a little bit of insight into what my week will include;

(Saturday we saw my Maid of Honour - she tried on her dress and looked fab!)

Monday
Visited my sister who is going to be one of my Bridesmaid so that she could try on her dress, which she looked absolutely gorgeous in! Also played with my nephew for a while & chatted to my sister.

Tuesday
We have a meeting with the Church Father to discuss all the implications of marriage & our love for one another. We have been informed that we will have a few of these meetings to not only allow us to get to know each other but so that the Father is satisfied that we understand the big commitment that we are about to make. These meetings make me a bit nervous as tomorrow is my first I am worried what he will be like as he is new to our Church. I know that a religious ceremony is not for everyone & although we are both from different religions we feel it is important to connect to God & our loved ones in heaven on the big day.

Wednesday
Our photographer is coming over to discuss the photo's that we would like taken at the wedding & we are going to look through his portfolio again. This really excites me as I absolutely adore photography so can't wait to exchange ideas about the kind of images I like. We are also seeing my fiance's sister who is also going to be a Bridesmaid, so she can try on her dress as well. Cannot wait to see what it looks like!

Thursday
Am going to pick up the Bridesmaid accessories & make any exchanges to the dresses that need to be done.

Friday
Am potentially have my bridal hair trial with my friend to see what kind of styles I like & to get the overall feel of how I would like my hair on the big day!

So bare with my this week guys ! You will definitely get a post on Wednesday & Friday but they might be a little later in the day just like this one. Hope you don't mind, going to try & sort them out before but can't promise they will be up at a certain time! As of next week I'm hoping to be able to give you all a time slot of when my blogs will be up so that you will know when to check in for it.

Hope you all have a lovely week. Leave me a comment down below telling me what you've got planned, would love to hear all your schedules!

Review & Demo - Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow

Hi my loves!

Today I thought I'd start off a little series of reviews. The first being Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow in Dark Blond, although I have brown hair I find the soft brown pencil is too dark for the look I want. I prefer a product that simply enhances my natural brow rather than a product that completely redefines it. Anyway here is how I apply it;

(Naked - untouched brow)

(I take the pencil & make small strokes through the entire eyebrow to mimic the appearance of hairs. Then at the tail end i make a neat line through the top of the eyebrow to give it a bit more definition)

(The I take the groomer and brush through the brow to soften the look. Once I have softened to the desired look I sweep over the edges to finish off)

(The finished look - at this point you could add a setting gel/clear mascara, I usually don't as I feel the product has good enough staying power on it's own)

(The Product - Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow)

(The Colour - Dark Blond)

Overall I really like the look that this product gives, as I mentioned before I like a soft brow look so this is perfect for me. If you wanted a more defined look I'd definitely try the soft brown shade. I would recommend this product to anyone, as it's not too expensive retailing at an average of £2.99 it won't break the bank!

I hope you liked this post, if you have any questions feel free to comment below! If you'd like to see more posts like this, come back every Friday, as I want to make this a recurring series.

Bye bye xx
